Safeguarding

Every Parochial Church Council (PCC) takes seriously the care for all in the community, including children and vulnerable people. This means that where possible we appoint Parish Safeguarding Officers who are the first point of call if there are any concerns about the safety of someone living in the parish. Their safety can be compromised for many different reasons, including living alone in a remote place, or having physical or mental health or financial or social problems that may make them more vulnerable.

Safeguarding is a standing item on every PCC agenda.

The Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) in Tredington & Stoke Orchard is Mrs Paddy Grimshaw 01684 294053, and in Forthampton Mrs Mary-Ann Preece 01452 840621. Any concerns about people living in those parishes can in the first instance be reported to them.

The parishes of Deerhurst and Apperley and of Chaceley do not have a PSO.

Concerns can be reported to the priest in charge Revd Ilse Ferwerda on 01452 780880 or email apperleypriest@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can contact the Safeguarding Department of the Diocese of Gloucester by phone on 01452 835516 Monday - Friday between 9am - 4pm, outside these hours Monday - Friday please phone 07944 680320, or if it's a weekend or Bank Holiday please phone 0303 0031111 (the thirtyone:eight safeguarding helpline). You can also email the safeguarding department on safeguarding@glosdioc.org.uk.

If you or someone you know is in acute danger, please ring 999 for help and support.

Our safeguarding policy and information on who to contact and numbers of other helplines as appropriate can be found in church porches or notice boards.
